Classes, Talks & Events

Speaking of Dance is a series of free public dialogues and roundtable conversations about the world of dance, contextualizing it within culture and society.

Presented by noted writers, choreographers and creative thinkers, Speaking of Dance is a platform for dance spectators to share and develop their observation and interpretation of dance.

DanceHouse is thrilled to once again partner with SFU Woodward’s to present Speaking of Dance.

Professionals and advanced pre-professionals, attend a Master Class with our visiting companies. Space is extremely limited.

Held in the upper lobby of the Playhouse prior to each performance, Pre-show Talks are a great way to connect with the companies you are about to see. Hosted by a dance expert, and frequently featuring guests from the company, pre-show talks can deepen your understanding of contemporary dance and provide context for what’s on stage.

Pre-show Talks begin at 7:15pm and are approximately half an hour in length.
